I don't know how many copies of the DAS I am going to need in my project. What shall I do?
Would you like to collaborate in our research looking at (Condition X) ?
Email orders@derriford.info providing your full contact detail, information about the population you are interested in, and your professional background. Scales cost £0.50p per copy (provided in multiples of 25 copies), and the test manuals are £15. Payment is by cheque made out to "Centre for Appearance Research."
Please note that DAS24, DAS59, and the test manuals for each are supplied on the basis that (1) they will not be subsequently changed, copied or distributed, and (2) you will send us summary data from any research you undertake in order to update our norm tables from time to time.
We would be happy to collaborate with researchers to develop translations of the DAS24 and DAS59. We have a protocol for this which we would expect to be followed which can be downloaded here. In the first instance, however, please contact Dr Moss to discuss the proposal.

For larger scale projects, it may be possible to agree a licence to use the DAS24 or DAS59 for a pre-determined fee over a fixed period, rather than purchase a specific number of copies of the scale. Please contact Dr Moss to discuss this if it is likely to be an issue for you.

It is quite possible, yes! If not, I am likely to be able to put you in touch with someone else who will. Please contact me with your ideas or initial proposals at

Not at the moment. There is clearly a need for a means of measuring adjustment in these groups.
Specific formatting will depend on the style of referencing required by the house style of the relevant publisher.
It is appropriate to cite both the relevant journal article and the appropriate manual. For the DAS59, select the journal article most appropriate for the target audience.
